“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.” John Wesley – the co-founder of the Methodist Church.
We get so caught up with the business of life, the mundane aspects of it that I think people forget that we are only here for a short time. We are supposed to be good stewards and tenants while we are here on this earth. We are supposed to take care of each other and our land that we borrow while we are here, until we go home to our beautiful eternal mansion. I have always loved music because it really is the language that almost everybody relates to and understands.
What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love, by Jackie DeShannon, is one of my favorite songs. It is so true and holds up beautifully today:
“What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some but for everyone.”
How amazing it would be if we all loved one another, not hated! How glorious it would be if we exhorted each other, not put down. How miraculous it would be if we were good enough just being who we are. It would truly be heaven on earth! I wish that it could be as simple as a daddy’s love for his baby girl and a daughter’s love for her Pops! I miss you Dad; you have the best laugh in the world!
