Happy Flag Day

Thank you, Miss Betsy Ross, for making the flag, red, white and blue,
It is the most beautiful flag; this is so very true,
With its thirteen stripes and its thirteen stars,
In the 242 years since, as a country, we have many battle scars,
We have added 37 new states and stars to your flag as we grew,
I hope that you would have liked my tribute to honor you.Betsy Ross

Isis, My Cat

Isis, My Cat

Isis

An Egyptian Goddess is my dear cat of cats

Start to pet her and soon, away she scats,

But, if my pups are getting loves, up she jumps to get her pats,

She thinks she is the goddess of this home. “Forget those doggy brats.”

Not unlike her mythical namesake from the long ago past.

The Gift of His Grace

busThe Gift of His Grace

Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.” Ephesians 4:26-27 (NASB)

Today has been a test and I did not totally fail, but I could have shown much more grace,

I was in a rush and missed two busses. The ones I did catch stopped at every stop – a snail’s pace.

I tried to buy a paratransit pass, the lady did not understand, I just showed her my upset face.

I did not show the woman grace, frustration, not a smile, was in its place.

The man at the DSHS office deserved it too, I did not yell out loud, but I was in my head space.

2 weeks I waited for his call, but not a word did I hear about my case.

Preschoolers came on there and back singing The Wheels on the Bus…& perked up the place

Trying to contain their joy, off to the fire station they wished to race.

God, help my heart overflow with your grace and not get off base.

God’s Paint Brush – Be Better Stewards

God’s Paint Brush

Nature is my beat,

God’s beauty is my party,

Renews my tired mind.

As we understand that, “the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,” (Psalm 24:1) we can see that we are merely temporary possessors (or stewards) of things that He owns.

May we become better stewards of our temporary home, God bless!
